Thanksgiving 2007

Happy Thanksgiving!!!! From What's Bakin'!
Thanksgiving was a little different this year. Typically we make our way to the lake for lunch and hang out there all day with Shannon's family. We had a change of plans this year. We celebrated Papa's 89th birthday and had dinner at our house. We hosted 17 adults and 4 children for lunch. Clayton, April and the girls caught up with us for dessert. It was a packed house! We truly enjoyed visiting with my Aunts, Uncles and cousins from out of town. I know Papa enjoyed everyone being together too. It was a special day for him.
All the food was De-Lish!!! We all pitched in and prepared assigned dishes. We were certainly giving thanks for all the great cooks in the family.
By the day's end we were feeling truly blessed that all of us could be there together. We don't get to do it often but it sure us worth it!!!!
---Thanks to my sweet friend, Ansley,
accommodating all those people wasn't as big of a chore as I had anticipated.
She helped me set the tables and make arrangements for some very festive
centerpieces! (Thanks, Ans!)---

Funny Story

Today was Chick-fil-A day at school. The boys stayed after and ate lunch from chick-fil-a. When I picked them up I asked Sam how his lunch was. His response went like this:
Mommy, it was chick-fil-a day and I didn't eat all my lunch. They got my order
wrong. I was supposed to get the 6 nugget kids meal and all they gave me was
a hamburger with one big giant nugget inside.
He was referring to the chick-fil-a sandwich! I laughed so hard, I had to sit at the stop sign for a moment and regroup.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MUZZY!

Happy Birthday to Muzzy!

Sam asked Muzzy what kind of birthday party she wanted and they decided on a Little Mermaid theme. (He's really into theme parties!) We were unable to join them for dinner but we had a fantastic party later in the evening! I baked a cake complete with an Ariel candle topper. We had blowers for the boys and Ariel crowns for the girls. We ate cake and ice cream and watched Muzzy open presents. Muzzy loved her "birthday party" and so did the boys!

A note to Momma: Thanks for ALL you do to make every
occasion so special. I am so glad you have established so many wonderful traditions that I can now pass on to my boys. You inspire me in so many ways. Through your actions, you remind me that my
options in life will NEVER be exhausted as long as I use my creativity. You are truly amazing in all that you do! Thanks for being so wonderful and I hope you've had a great birthday! We love you!!!!
