Take me out to the ball game...

Well it's official! I am THAT mom.You know the one...in the mini-van, driving kids all over town for various practices and games, living out of her car, spending nights and weekends on the ball fields. Ok so maybe I'm not QUITE that mom yet but I'm getting close!

So far we have a soccer loving Fulton---even though he doesn't really play. He just kinda runs up and down the field or sits on the side lines as good team player should. Fu played YMCA soccer for the 2nd year. He was on the rockets and his coach is a SAINT! (Thank you, Brandon. You have the patience of Job!) We have a Baseball playin' Sambo, which is great because it's my favorite sport---love it love it love it! He played on an awesome team this year. He had mostly 2nd year players who were very aggressive and serious about their game. (Next year might be a different story as Sam and a couple others will be the oldest on the team.) Any who, Sam and Fu both had great seasons.

Fulton's games were so hilarious I almost wet my pants a few times. Sam's games were so intense I actually had a panic attack at one of them!!! NO LIE!!!

The unbeatable ROCKETS!!!

A few of Sam's adorable teammates on Palmetto Prudential at the awards ceremony.

Sam doesn't look too thrilled in this shot but he actually was. I've never seen someone so proud of a team accomplishment. He slept with his trophies that night.

Harper (a.k.a. the deadliest man in baseball) and Sambo

2 game balls earned by Sam and 2 trophies, regular season champs and play-off champs!!!! Go Palmetto Prudential!!

Trouble in blue!!! Brooks, Wright, and Fulton

LOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEE!!!!! So proud of his trophy.

I think I'm gonna like this soccer/baseball mom thing. If I can just figure out the schedules then I'll be good to go. ;-)

Last day of preschool for Fu :-(

The Grateful dead once sang, "Well the first days are the hardest day. Don't ya worry anymore...". I definitely agree but also have to say that the last days are very hard too. Fulton had his end of the year picnic today. And for most kids, this marks leaving Mrs. Frannie (the best teacher at KP), enjoying summer and moving on into the 4 year-old preschool classes at KP. For Fulton (actually, me) it was a bittersweet day.

He was accepted into Brockman, our lottery Montessori school. For that we are truly thankful. We tried for 3 years to get Sam in. So just like his little classmates (several whom he has been with since he was in the baby room) Fulton will enjoy his summer and move into a 4 year old preschool at Brockman. This transition will be huge, as Brockman is full day and I am handing him over to the public school system, a year or two earlier than most kids. Any who...letting go of sweet little KP and the "Jesus Bubble" that I referred to when Sam left for 5k is soooooo hard.

I rejoice in them growing up and becoming healthy, happy, and wise young men. But honestly, I mourn at the same time. They will never be little again. And it goes by so darn fast. I have enjoyed my afternoons with FU-bird, sleeping in and arriving at school when we felt like it, or playing hookie altogether because we wanted to lounge in our pj's. I love that little crazy boy.

A few of the many blessings of Fu going to Brockman is that his best bud, Wright, will be going too. So at least he has a friend to go with. We are also looking forward to a great year with having TWO kids in one school. That will make life so much easier. We can't wait to see how much Fu grows academically this year. Rumor has it, the earlier they start Montessori, the better. Although, the Montessori approach just might change when FU and Wright walk through the door!!!! YIKES---Good luck Primary!!!

Oh well, This too shall pass. And I too shall survive.

SO here's to Kilbourne Park! Thanks for loving yet another Baker boy and helping him get ready for his next big move.

Fulton's class moms had the wonderful idea to make Mrs. Frannie a chair for her class present.
The children delighted in giving it to her at the picnic, as they all had a hand in making it...literally.

So cute!!!

They've spent their past few years together at KP and church and now they're on to BIGGER things!! Good luck sweet buddies!
