HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Happy Halloween from What's Bakin'?!!!
Daddy Vamp with his Babies

(Sam loves this picture)

Once again, we stuck with our tradition of going to Muzzy and Boppa's for our pre-treating Chili dinner. We filled our bellies and hit the streets. It was a quiet but super fun Halloween. The boys got more than enough candy!!! It should last them until at least Christmas. After they finished trick-or-treating, we took the home and hosed all the black paint our of their hair and took them to the Overdykes for a special Halloween sleepover! I can safely say...They had a great night!!!!

I can see the determination on their faces!!!! Men on a mission!
Trick or treat!!!!

The making of a VAMPIRE

Sam and Fulton crack me up!

This year, early-on they decided to be Clone Troopers (think Star Wars) for Halloween. Now, most of you know my sick obsession with a home-made costume. I get it honestly!!!! I very reluctantly purchased the costumes early...as they run out of the little sizes quickly! All the while BEGGING the boys to let me make them something spooky or gross. BUUUUT NOOOOOOO. We have to be Clone Troopers, Mommy! Well, Thursday Night before bed, Sam breaks into a tizzy-fit because he wants to be a Vampire. And guess what...so does Fulton. Thanks God capes and fangs don't cost a fortune so I went out on Halloween morning and scooped up what I could find to transform them into Vamps!

The hair is slicked...with lots of mousse and hairspray!!!

Sprayed black

What happened to my two toe-heads???

Apply make-up...

It was at that moment that I realized that I have the extreme potential to be a raging stage mom. I was surprised none of my neighbors called DSS.

Make up's done, white shirt, black pants, red cummerbunds...

Now give me your mean vampire faces!!!!

Welcome to Bakervania!!!!

The Italian Festival

Fulton found a cozy little rock to sit on
Sam and Fu running around and dancing

They were making up their own version of the Tarantella

My dad is on the planning committee for the Italian Festival sponsored by the Sons of Italy. We decided to take a stroll down to Riverfront Park to give the festival a whirl. This is the first year they've done it. I think it turned out quite well. There were lots of people there eating, drinking and enjoying the music. Dad's band played later in the evening.

Play Group Halloween Party

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM THE ALL BOYS PLAYGROUP!!!!
backrow: Cannon, Stephens, Blake, Harris, Grant, Andrew, Sam
frontrow: Luke, Chapman, Spense, Charlie, Brooks, Heath, Hugh, Fulton
This year Brooks hosted our annual Playgroup Halloween Party.

There were super heroes, cartoon characters, football players, etc. there! They all looked adaorable. This year we went with the less structured approach. The boys ran around and played in the backyard while the moms chatted and were later joined by some of the dads. However, there was some great apple bobbing, pinata smashing, and halloween twister going on!

I ran out of memory on my camera so I'm still awaiting photos to be emailed to me!!! (Ah, hum)
I think this is actually our fifth or sixth year of doing this...hard to believe!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I must say...it was a very nice day! Mom took me shopping, I got a fresh mani and pedi and Shannon and the boys, along with mom and dad, took me to dinner for my birthday. While I was getting ready for dinner, Shannon and the boys were decorating for my Disney Princess Party (you know how we are about theme parties). They did a great job!!!
After dinner we came back to the house to celebrate! Mom had arranged for my Aunt Judy to make my FAVORITE...KEY LIME CAKE. It is just to die for!
I truly enjoyed myself. It was a GREAT day for turning 34!

The Fair is Here!

Shannon and I took the boys to do our annual rounds at the SC STATE FAIR!!! We rode rides and ate and rode more rides and ate more fair food. Needless to say, we all had a ball!

Sam's Birthweek

Party #1~~~~~~
Sam's Birth-week celebrations started on his actual birthday, Wednesday, October, 15th. We asked Sam to chose a place to eat supper and just as last year, he chose Outback. Muzzy and Boppa joined us. We came home and had a yummy brownie cake and ice-cream. He enjoyed opening some presents from Mommy and Daddy and Muzzy and Boppa.

That's one precious cowboy!

Party #2~~~~~~
Sam celebrated his party at school but I'm the bad mom that forgot my camera! I made brownies and served them at lunch. Sam shares his birthday with another child in his class so her mom did something for them at snack time. He got triple celebrations that day...lunch, snack, and dinner!

Party #3~~~~~~

The original party plans for Sam got rained out so his party was postponed until Saturday. But it was great! The weather was beautiful and he had a great turn-out. So many of the kids came in their costumes and looked adorable! Sam requested a Halloween themed party this year, which was perfect and so easy to pull off.

With Pizza, cupcakes, costumes and a pinata...it was a success!

Sam's invites...designed by MOI!!!
Sam and Fulton went to the park for Sam's party dressed as a cowboy and his pony but the costumes were quickly shed!

Cute festive cupcakes

Happy Birthday to Sam!

The Party Favors

I am so over crappy goodie bags that I KNOW parents throw away after the kids go to bed. So this year I designed t-shirts and had my good buddy, Traeger at Graph-itti print them for me for darn good deal!!!!

Fulton models his cute shirt!

Say cheese, Sambo!

Look at all those fun things to unwrap! Sam is so blessed!!!

Happy Birthday to Sam!!

Happy Birthday to our Sweet, Sweet Sambo!!!!
Our sweet Sam turned six today. As cliche as it sounds...time sure does fly. He has started to come out of his shell in so many ways. I am amazed at what a social butterfly he has become. He has made MANY new friends in school. Sam enjoys being with his family and going on outings of all kinds.
It's so wonderful to watch him grow into a big boy! But it's so sad at the same time. I wish I could still cradle him in my arms and rock him at night, snuggle with him on the sofa for a cozy nap, and watch jump and play in his exersaucer. It went by too fast!
~~~~~~~~~~
Sam is so loving! He is still so musically talented and is now showing a great interest in art. He also loves baseball and tennis with a passion.
He is a great big brother to Fulton. I have NO idea what I'd do without him to help me entertain Fulton sometimes (especially in recent months!). They play together so well and look forward to spending time with each other. They are truly best friends!
Sam is a HUGE help. He does some chores around the house and does so many helpful things without being told. He minds his manners and sets a GREAT example for Fulton!!!
His big blue eyes can make you melt. And his sweet smile brightens my day! Shannon and I are so thankful that God has blessed us with Sam. He is such an sweet-spirited child and just a joy to be raising!
We love this baby Boy so much and hope he has had a great day!
Here's an updated slideshow of Sambo over the years.
More birthday festivities to come!!!
